Stork Swap is an exchange for fic and art focusing on pregnancy or babies under the age of one.

What qualifies?

The fic or art piece must be about pregnancy or parenting a baby under the age of one.

For pregnancy, anything from the moment of conception to the moment of birth qualifies. If you want to receive a gift focused on a specific part of the pregnancy (for example, you are only interested in impregnation smut, or you want to be sure the character is far enough along to have a baby bump) you can indicate that through your chosen freeform tags and optional details.

Any type of pregnancy counts, mpreg, fpreg, natural, magical, eggpreg, etc.

For baby focused fic, the baby must be under a year old for the majority of the fic. The baby can come from anywhere, birth, adoption, wishbabies, the stork, a cabbage patch, accidental baby acquisition, a weird egg you found in the backyard, etc. If you have a preference for where the baby came from, you can indicate that through your tags and optional details.

The parents and baby don't have to be the same species as long as a reasonable person can see the baby as their child, not their pet. (So something like kitten acquisition is fine if the caretaker is also an animal, but not if they're a human)

For baby focused fic, the requested characters must be or plan to be the baby's parents. This isn't for babysitting or looking after a temporarily aged down friend.

For pregnancy focused relationship tags, please use the following format:

For parenting focused relationship tags, please use the following format:

Please disambiguate all nominations. Keep in mind / indicates a romantic or sexual relationship and & indicates a platonic relationship. For pregnancy focused fic, you must indicate which partner should be pregnant (even for M/F pairings with a pregnant woman). You may indicate if you want both to be pregnant.

For freeform tags, they must tie in to some aspect of pregnancy or parenting.

Fic must be 1000 words or longer, art must be a clean sketch on unlined paper. They must include at least one fandom, relationship, and freeform tag from the same request.

Treats can be any length

Requests and offers

Edited: There is no minimum requirement for requests or offers. You must be able to match as a creator, if you can do that with a single tag, go for it.

If you request fewer than three fandoms and your pinch hit lingers until the day works are due (or one week if you were defaulted on less than a week before the due date) you will be asked to add additional fandoms. If you are unable or unwilling to add additional fandoms, your pinch hit will stay up, but I won't hold up reveals for you. I will hold reveals until everyone who requests three or more fandoms has a gift.

It is a risk, but I think it might be a risk worth taking for some people who are more monofandomish. This is an experiment, it may change next year if it doesn't work out or makes things significantly harder.

If the pregnant character is pregnant with an out-of-ship baby, is that something to put in the optional details or baked into the tags?

Like, if Kirk is pregnant with McCoy's child but is with Spock, which tag would you want me to use?

Would it be okay to request Pregnant A/B as my relationship, but in the optional details amidst all the pregnancy prompts include something like "I'm also totally interested in A/B & CanonBaby where A carried CanonBaby, or where either carried CanonBaby but A is now pregnant or definitely going to be pregnant with #2!"?

/trying to sort out requests and realized that if I just add "A/B & Baby" to my relationships I'm going to have to go back and rework my planned tags to guarantee mpreg somewhere in this canon het lol.

That's fine, especially since it wouldn't be your only prompt.

I'm probably going to stick a couple postpartum tags among my pregnancy requests which would technically fit A/B & baby better since the baby is already born, but the focus is still partially on the pregnancy despite it being over and I don't want to split my requests up that much.

Are ambiguous groups or "Creator's Choice of" type nominations allowed? As in could I nominate Pregnant Male Sith Warrior & The Alliance (SWTOR) or Pregnant Male Sith Warrior & Creator's Choice of Alliance Member(s) (SWTOR)?

Or does that need to be put in as Pregnant Male Sith Warrior/none (SWTOR) with the Alliance part left to prompts?

Would nominating A/B & canon!baby be an okay thing to do if their baby doesn't stay a baby for all of canon? Specifically, I would be nominating Akutsu Mabu/Niiboshi Reo & Azuma Sara, as she is a baby in the manga that they canonically raise together and I'd be looking for babyfic with that tag, even though she's an adult in the anime.

Are the 'Optional Tags' getting used for requesting/offering more freeforms or more fandoms? Sorry if it's mentioned somewhere, I can't find any information about them anywhere on the community or the collection, but maybe I've missed it.

I've been using them for freeforms, for the time being, but I'll fix it if it's the wrong usage.
